If you're tired of opening up your lunchbox to find cold or lukewarm food, a Chennai start-up may have a solution for you.Built by three-week-old Chennai start-up Vaya, 'Tyffyn' helps your lunch stay hot for upto six hours. That's thanks to vacuum-enclosed stainless steel and copper containers that keep food hot.Vashist Vasanthakumar, Founder and CEO, Vaya life says, "All of them open from the top, which is contrary to the very basic physics principle that heat escapes to the top, and the weakest point happens to be on the top. Our lunchbox is designed to open from the bottom, so that when the heat escapes to the top, it has nowhere to go and so it retains heat."Tyffyn's creator Vashisht is a former apple employee who's recently returned from a 17-year stint in the US.Vaya's boxes are assembled in China, and bosts customers in India, the US, the UK and the Middle East. Now, with 6 million dollars in funding from his friends and family, Vashisht wants to take the brand to the next level."We will be using that funding to market it better and sell it both here in india, and we've also been getting a lot of demand-calls from outside india," says Vasanthakumar.Watch video for more.
