Fertiliser companies may be allowed to hike maximum retail prices of Di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) by over Rs 600 per tonne as the fertiliser ministry is planning to move a Cabinet proposal in this regard. The major fertiliser stocks have been reacting quite positively to this price hike.
The government had also allowed companies to hike MRP of DAP by up to Rs 600 per tonne from Rs 10,750 per tonne last month. It also increased the subsidy on DAP to insulate fertiliser companies from high global prices and ensure that the nutrient is available at affordable prices to farmers.
