Hitting out at Maruti Suzuki for laying off over 500 workers due to the Manesar violence renowned Supreme Court lawyer Prashant Bhushan told CNBC-TV18 that the company's move was against the Industrial Disputes Act, hence null and void in the eyes of law. He also said that if the workers are not taken back in due course it could lead to a long spate of litigations against the company.

Prashant Bhushan, lawyer, Supreme Court, says that the management of Maruti is taking advantage of this very unfortunate incident where the guilty should certainly be held accountable, have taken advantage of this incident and dismissed all workers whom they considered inconvenient.
A judicial inquiry must be held to determine who was guilty, I don't think that this would be a subject of a PIL, it would be a subject of a proceeding either in the labour court or even in the high court.
