The US Food and Drug Administration has issued import alert on two plants of fast moving consumer goods maker Dabur India. One plant is located at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh where the company makes oral hygiene products like the Meswak toothpaste. The other plant is located at Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh, where skin care products like fairness cream bleach are made. This import alert means US authorities can detain without physical examination of new drugs promoted in the US for not meeting good manufacturing practises. Dabur India, however, clarified that it doesn't export products to the United States and so this import alert will not have any impact on its financials. The US FDA had last month issued an import alert on  a manufacturing plant of pharma company Wockhardt. Dabur India slipped 3 percent after the import alert was issued. However, the stock recovered soon after and at 13:15 hrs, it was up 0.1 percent at Rs 150.50 on NSE.
