Marriott raises avg India room rentals by 5-10 pct in 2011

Marriott International, the largest US hotel chain, has raised average room rentals by 5-10% in India for 2011 and expects an increase of 10-12% in revenue per available room for its Indian properties this year, a senior official said on Thursday.

Marriott International, the largest US hotel chain, has raised average room rentals by 5-10% in India for 2011 and expects an increase of 10-12% in revenue per available room for its Indian properties this year, a senior official said on Thursday.

It plans to add 6 properties in 2011 to its existing 12 in India -- under management contract - taking the tally to 18, Rajeev Menon, area vice president for India, Malaysia and Maldives, told reporters on the sidelines of a forum on hotel investment in India.
