Mahindra ventures into construction equipment business

EarthMaster is powered by Mahindra''s DITEC engine, a compact 3.3 litre engine which delivers best in class 83 HP power. The DITEC engine combining with Direct Injection (DI) with turbo charger and intercooler (TCI) will help in saving fuel by 10%.

The backhoe market is expected to grow by 15% to 45,000 units by 2014, and we hope to create a mark in this fast growing segment," M&M''s Business Head, Construction Equipment, Kairas Vakharia said. The company is also exploring the possibilities of exporting the said products from next year onwards, Vakharia said.
