Nestle vendors gearing up to meet Maggi demand

Nestle is also likely to get international experts to inspect vendor facilities at regular intervals.

With Nestle's Maggi noodles getting the initial green flag and the company resuming initial manufacturing, Nestle's vendors are heaving a sigh of relief. CNBC-TV18's Priya Sheth has learnt that in anticipation of demand from Nestle India in the near-future, spice vendors are keeping resources aligned and even bringing back terminated contract workers. 

Paras Spices that is the largest supplier to the company with a business of about Rs 50 crore with Nestle annually will bring back 45 to 50 percent of its terminated contract workers.

Nestle is now taking every step in a measured, cautions manner. It has undertaken audits at vendor facilities and has made technical quality norms more stringent.

Infact, the company is also likely to get international experts to inspect vendor facilities at regular intervals.
