The power minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in an interview to CNBC-TV18 said that in the last 6-8 months the sector had seen a lot of positive reformative steps and some very big ticket steps that were announced.

The first being finalisation of the financial restructuring programme of all the state discoms. The redrafting of the standard bidding documents both for case one and case two bids was one of the big ticket announcements that most of the analysts community was waiting and watching for.

Consequently, we have seen some healthy bids come in for both the ultra mega power projects in Odisha and Tamil Nadu.

The minister spoke about the connectivity of the southern grid with the national grid and about the kind of amendments seen in the mega power policy.
