Govt likely to fast track Bandra-Versova sealink

The BJP-led government in Maharshtra is expected to put Mumbai’s long pending infrastructure projects on fast-track. The state-run Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation or MSRDC is evaluating proposals of Irb Infra and Essel Infra for the ambitious Rs 6,000 crore Bandra Versova Sea-Link Project.IRB Infra – Hyundai Consortium & Essel Infra – OHL Consortium had submitted the request for qualification (RFQ) in May.

The project cost is now likely to be revised upwards at the time of floating request for proposal (RFP) and the request for viability gap funding up to 20 percent pending before cabinet sub-committee.

The proposal is likely to receive a cabinet nod by December.
