Google & Tata Trust help 2.6 million rural women access internet

In this digital age, women empowerment also means access to internet and over 2.6 million women in rural India have found their way onto the World Wide Web, thanks to a collaboration between Google and Tata Trusts. The project teaches women to use the internet and to get other women on to the net.

In this digital age, women empowerment also means access to internet and over 2.6 million women in rural India have found their way onto the World Wide Web, thanks to a collaboration between Google and Tata Trusts. The project teaches women to use the internet, and gives these "Google Internet Saathis", as they are called, basic infrastructure to get other women on to the net. CNBC-TV18's Prerna Baruah travelled to a village in Rajasthan to see one of these Saathis in action.Watch video for more....
