Following BMW & Mercedes-Benz, Audi, too, will be assembling engines in India, say sources. As part of the move, parent Volkswagon Group will be putting together a 2-litre diesel engine at its Chakan plant in Maharashtra. The Volkswagen diesel engine assembly plant was inaugurated in January 2015. Currently, Audi imports fully assembled engines, gearbox and transmissions. Locally assembled engines will be used across Audi, VW and Skoda models, the sources added. Models that would see locally assembled engines to include Audi A4, A6 & Q3, the sources said.Watch video for more..
