Nearly a thousand contract workers belonging to logistics provider DHL at two of Jaguar Land Rover’s plants in the UK have voted in favour of a strike. Contract workers at a third plant have also voted in favour of such action, reports CNBC-TV18’s Sunanada Jayaseelan.

JLR on its part claims that this is only industrial action which essentially means that the strike could be one of the options, other options being that they could possibly go slow on work and refuse to work overtime. They say that if they do decide to take a call to go on strike, that would happen only in the next three or four weeks.  Speaking to CNBC-TV18, JLR says they are disappointed with the action by Unite, the union representing DHL and are looking at backup options. They are refusing to go into details of the backup, but are looking at disruptions which could come out of a possible strike. They say they are hoping to resolve the situation at the very earliest.
