The Supreme Court (SC) rapped Sahara once again for not complying with its earlier order. Meanwhile, a Mumbai court has issued summons to Subrata Roy to appear before it personally, reports Ashmit Kumar of CNBC-TV18.
Sebi has made a fresh application before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court in Mumbai for issuing fresh order for summons Sahara chief Subrata Roy. This is a part of criminal proceedings that the market regulator has undertaken. Also read: SC issues contempt notice to Sahara group's two firms Similar orders had also been passed in May 2013 by the same court. But those orders had not been served upon Sahara Housing, one of the two Sahara companies in question. As of Tuesday, the court has set a deadline of September 30 for fresh order of summons to be issued and to be served upon for Roy and the three directors of the two companies in question to appear before this court on September 30. This again is a part of criminal and civil proceedings with respect to the repayment, contempt, and issues concerning non-compliance with the orders that is still pending before the apex court.
