After retail sector, the power sector too is in for some reform. The Empowered Group of Ministers is expected to consider new bidding norms for ultra mega power projects (UMPPs), reports CNBC-TV18's Mehak Kasbekar quoting sources.
UMPPs are 4000 megawatts projects each which are very important for capacity addition in the 12th plan. Now there are two major UMPPs which are awaiting Request for Proposal (RFP) in fact.
