Raheja‘s calls Nusli Wadia an usurper in land suit

Less than two weeks after realty heavyweight Gopal Raheja scored one over textile tycoon Nusli Wadia, the two are back at the Bombay High Court. At stake is a 600 acre land, in the Mumbai suburb of Malad. Gopal Raheja has challenged the legitimacy of Nusli Wadia as the administrator of suit land, alleging "extraordinary scheme of fraud", reports Ashmit Kumar of CNBC-TV18.


The high profile legal battle between Nusli Wadia and Gopal Raheja saw a fiery start in the Bombay High Court today.
Now, the Raheja's on their part have challenged a very legitimacy of Nusli Wadia as the administrator of the suit land. Going forward, to add that he is nothing, but an usurper. In fact, they argued that an extraordinary scheme of fraud, which was initiated way back in the 70s, which continues and that it was discovered only as late as in 2010.
The court interjected and said that the claims made by Rahejas are nothing but counterblast to the first petition, which was filed by the Wadias against the Rahejas.
In fact in the court, justice Chandrachud questioned if the Raheja's had any locus, to which the Rahejas relied that they did not entered into an agreement with the Wadias but their agreement was with the executor or the land. The executor being Bachubhai, who passed away in the year 1970. Bachubhai importantly was the sister of Eduljee Framroze Dinshaw who owned the land.
Now the Raheja's have also brought forward 15 sensitive documents, which they cited as proof. This is where the court came in asked the Raheja’s to explain why it took over two years to bring these facts to board. The Raheja's have been directed to file an affidavit towards this end. The hearing is likely to continue on September 25 2012.
