Banks in many cities will remain closed on Wednesday, 20th November 2024, as per the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar. The closures have been announced in view of assembly elections in Maharashtra and bypolls in Uttar Pradesh.
The RBI publishes a detailed holiday schedule annually, categorising holidays under three headings: national holidays, regional holidays, and bank-specific holidays. Today's closure is limited to specific regions going to polls.
