Puneet Chandok, head of AWS India & South Asia, resigns

Chandok joined the e-commerce brand four years ago and Vaishali Kasture, the head of the enterprise, mid-market & global business of AWS India and South Asia, is to assume the role of the interim leader for the same, effective immediately.

It is not clear yet if Chandok will replace Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari or take up a new responsibility.

Puneet Chandok, the president of commercial business, AWS India and South Asia (Amazon Web Services) resigned from the company, coming only a few weeks after the cloud service provider announced an investment of $12.7 billion in India and hosted its AWS Summit in Mumbai.

Chandok's last day of work will be on August 31, 2023, according to a company statement. “We thank Puneet for his contribution and leadership over the last four years and wish him all the best,” the statement added.

During the AWS Summit, Chandok highlighted the company's continued focus on India and plans on bridging the skill gap by training more people.
