Anant Goenka has resigned as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CEAT Tyres, with effect from March 31, 2023.
He will be replaced by Arnab Banerjee, the company's COO. CEAT has appointed Arnab Banerjee as the MD & CEO for a tenure of two years starting April 1, 2023.
Anant Goenka has been elevated to the rank of Vice Chairman of CEAT Ltd. He will be leading the RPG Group’s entry into the new business segments.
Goenka had said in an interview with Livemint earlier this year that the company's vision is to cross $2 billion in revenues in the near term by focusing on the passenger and off-highway tyre (OHT) segments. “We are already at a leading position in the two-wheeler segment and are now expanding our growth in the passenger car and SUV (sport-utility vehicle) segments, where penetration in India is still low. Internationally, India is becoming the farm tyre manufacturer for the world, and we have made strong gains in the EU and US markets over the last five years,” he had said.
He had joined CEAT as the regional manager of sales; by 2005, he had begun leading the Off-Highway Tyres Business. He quit the company for a brief period to return as the Deputy Managing Director in 2010; in April 2012, he was appointed as CEAT’s Managing Director.
Notably, Goenka, 40, is a member of the management board at RPG Enterprises and also a member of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA).
