Taylor Swift’s high school ex, now a wedding photographer, reacts to her engagement to Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift delighted her fans this week by sharing her engagement pictures with Travis Kelce, a National Football League (NFL) star. An affair that started in 2023 is now set to culminate in a dreamy wedding that fans are waiting with bated breath to witness.

Sharing her delight on Instagram, Swift announced, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” This was enough to break the internet and send fans into a frenzy, including Taylor’s self-proclaimed high school ex, Andy Slye, who took to Twitter to share one of their pictures together, possibly taken in 2008.

He wrote, “That feeling when your girlfriend from high school finally gets engaged. I used to tell myself: Andrew, it’ll be okay. She wasn’t right for you. I just hope her husband isn’t some handsome buff football player.” Ironically, not only is Travis a footballer, but he is also the only one to play the sport among all the men she has ever dated.

Adding to the storytime, Andy credited Taylor and her music as an ice-breaker between him and his wife. “I wouldn’t have hit it off with my wife if it weren’t for Taylor. Taylor was a topic the first time we met. We bonded over the music,” he said, adding, “Now we film weddings as a husband-and-wife team. We love to film football weddings (like this ND one). Is anyone else thinking what I’m thinking?”

Many on the internet got curious about Andy’s claims, with one picking up the hint from his thread: “Looks like you’re a wedding photographer… Maybe she can use one coming up?” Andy replied, “She might have a limited budget. We’ll see.” Another asked, “Which song of hers was about you?” And he shared, “The one where she says, ‘I love the gap between your teeth.’”
