Karan Johar has been delivering one knockout look after another at the Cannes Film Festival this year. The celebrated Bollywood producer’s latest appearance in a Rohit Bal creation was no exception.
Paying tribute to the late designer, Karan wore an all-black ensemble layered with a luxurious jacket featuring striking rose motifs embroidered on it. Styled by Eka Lakhani, the filmmaker looked suave in the eye-catching outfit.
Sharing more details of the look, Eka wrote, “Karan Johar for the screening of Homebound. Blooming and shining at Cannes! @festivaldecannes.”
She added, “This jacket by Rohit Bal is crafted from luxurious silk velvet and features intricate hand embroidery using the traditional zardozi technique. Every element of the embroidery has been done entirely by hand, with a total of 410 hours dedicated to its creation.”
As always, Karan didn’t skip the accessories. He impressed in a stylish necklace, statement ring, and trendy sunglasses. A pair of black shoes completed the look.
For his red carpet debut, Karan chose to wear his friend Manish Malhotra’s ivory bandhgala adorned with glamorous embellishments, paired with an ivory shirt and black trousers.
He posted the photos on Instagram, writing: “A custom-made @manishmalhotraworld ivory bandhgala with handcrafted tonal thread embroidery & a woven jacquard collar paired with an ivory shirt with ruffle detail on collar placket and cuff. The bandhgala is adorned with real @manishmalhotrajewellery buttons, brooches, and collar pins to enhance the look like never before!”
His other appearances included a pink checkered suit by Label Crestelli, an all-black look layered with a vibrant jacket by Valentino, and a black-and-white tailored jacket set by designer duo Falguni Shane Peacock. These looks were worn for events and interviews at the prestigious film festival.
