There are luxury weddings, and then there are weddings that feel like they’ve stepped out of a painter’s imagination. Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju’s Udaipur celebrations belonged to the latter. As Vogue India reported, the multi-day wedding unfolded in a world built almost entirely out of fresh blooms — nearly 10 lakh flower stems, to be precise — creating an atmosphere that felt less like décor and more like a sensory experience.
Udaipur’s palaces, usually accustomed to hosting extravagant nuptials, were transformed into immersive floral environments where every corner, corridor, and courtyard carried a visual language of its own. The vision belonged to the bride, Netra, who was deeply involved in shaping the aesthetic narrative. Interflora India’s creative head, Anuja Joshi, told Vogue India that each ceremony was designed around a “hero flower,” chosen to communicate the emotional tone of the event — whether the soft romance of ranunculus or the commanding elegance of phalaenopsis orchids.
What set this wedding apart wasn’t just scale, but intention. Not a single stem served as a filler; every bloom had a role. Instead of overwhelming the palatial architecture, the décor leaned into complementing it, echoing its arches, colours and textures. The result was a poetic dialogue between history and modern design.
A Floral Operation of Rare Magnitude
Behind the dreamy visuals lay an operation of almost cinematic intensity. According to Vogue India, flowers scheduled to arrive days earlier were delayed and only reached Udaipur the evening before the major ceremonies. What followed was a high-pressure race against time: 800 florists working through the night, boatloads of flowers being ferried to an island palace after dark, and teams installing thousands of stems until sunrise.
To keep the blooms fresh in Rajasthan’s heat, the decorators constructed a temporary refrigerated facility spanning 15,000 sq ft — a cold room built from scratch purely to protect the flowers. Wedding planners say such infrastructure is almost unheard of, even in India’s most extravagant celebrations.

A New Kind of Indian Wedding Luxury
As Vogue India highlights, the Mantena–Gadiraju wedding represents a shift in what luxury weddings can look like. This was not opulence for spectacle alone; it was opulence rooted in artistry. Every petal served the story.
The wedding has quickly become a reference point in the luxury wedding industry, offering a masterclass in immersive design, bold ambition, and the beauty of treating décor as an emotional experience rather than an accessory.
