Aditi Rao Hydari’s sculpted silhouette and subtle embellishment look gets a nod from fashion lovers

At the recently held WAVES 2025 summit in Mumbai, fashion took a decidedly sculptural turn as Bollywood actress Aditi Rao Hydari arrived in a sharp, all-black ensemble by designer Gaurav Gupta. Departing from overt glamour and high-impact red carpet theatrics, the look showcased architectural tailoring, textured surfaces, and oodles of style from the designer’s latest ready-to-wear line.

The pretty actress wore a black corset-style peplum top with strapless neckline and angular cuts for a structural fit. While black often runs the risk of disappearing in a sea of louder palettes, the corset and trouser combination kept the visual interest high with its distinct silhouette and hand embroidery on both sides.

The detailing was metallic but not ostentatious, suggesting a couture touch without pushing into maximalism. The top was paired with matching flared trousers, fitted through the thigh before opening up from the knees into dramatic, almost retro-style bell bottoms. The trousers served a dual purpose as they elongated Aditi’s petite frame while softening the sharpness of the corset with fluid movement.

The Heeramandi actress went with understated accessories and wore a set of stacked golden hoop earrings to slay the ongoing trend of structured waistlines and flared bottoms for formal occasions. Together, the pieces created a clean, monochrome look that made a stylish statement.

Sharing the pictures from her fashion collaboration shoot, Aditi wrote on her Instagram, “The way of water- flow, play,,adapt, mould, own your path, keep cleansing, stay pure while the world messes with you, glisten along the way …and be eternally precious.
