This response is triggered by the release of hormones, which prepare the body to either confront or escape the situation at hand. Common physical reactions to stress include an elevated heart rate, increased breathing, and heightened blood pressure. Headaches: Stress often leads to tension headaches, characterised by dull, aching pain around the forehead or back of the head and neck. Chronic stress can cause these headaches to become frequent or severe, affecting your ability to concentrate and function effectively throughout the day.

Muscle tension: Stress triggers muscle tension, particularly in the neck, shoulders, and back, leading to discomfort or pain. Prolonged tension can result in chronic pain or stiffness, limiting mobility and affecting your posture. Managing stress and practising relaxation techniques can help alleviate this physical symptom.
