With the help of family and friends, the couple's relationship, which has been going on for nine years, is finally official.

Kollywood star Vishal and actress Sai Dhanshika have made their relationship official as they announced their engagement on Friday. The engagement ceremony was held in Chennai at Vishal's house and was reserved for close family and a few close friends.

As they exchanged rings, Vishal's parents, Dhanshika's father, and a close friend of the couple all extended their blessing.

Vishal took to Instagram on Friday August 29 and shared several photos along with Dhanshika and their families from the engagement ceremony. He also penned a heartfelt note expressing gratitude. He wrote, "Thank u all u darlings from every nook and corner of this universe for wishing and blessing me on my special birthday. Happy to share the good news of my #engagement that happend today with @saidhanshika amidst our families.feeling positive and blessed. Vishal, who is also the General Secretary of the South Indian Artistes' Association (Nadigar Sangam), had claimed before that he would only get married after the Nadigar Sangam edifice was constructed and launched. He maintained his promise and got engaged as the project was drawing to a conclusion. He told his supporters that their wedding would come soon after the ceremonial launch.

Post his engagement, while addressing the media,, Vishal made a personal promise concerning his acting profession after getting engaged. He said he will no longer do lip-lock situations on screen, saying that the choice was based on his personal principles as he prepares to get married.
