Tom Cruise was among the many high-profile celebrities who attended Oasis’ recent sold-out performances at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium, as reported by Variety.
The actor’s presence was especially noteworthy considering the colourful history he shares with the band’s famously outspoken frontmen, Liam and Noel Gallagher. The English rock legends have reunited for a long-awaited 2025 world tour after years of public disagreements and estrangement.
Fans may recall a memorable dig at Tom Cruise featured in Baillie Walsh’s 2007 documentary Lord Don’t Slow Me Down, which chronicled Oasis during their Don’t Believe the Truth world tour between May 2005 and March 2006.
In the film, Noel Gallagher didn’t hold back, stating on camera: “He’s a little fucker, and he’s not been in one good film in his entire career,” to which Liam added: “I hate Tom Cruise. Bastard. Him and [soccer player] Michael Owen.”
Despite the fiery remarks, the tension appeared to ease in 2009 when Cruise and Liam Gallagher had a chance encounter at a Berlin hotel. Cruise was in town promoting his film Valkyrie, while Liam was preparing for an Oasis gig.
According to reports from the time, Tom Cruise initially walked past Liam, but turned back and good-naturedly brought up the band’s past criticism. He reportedly reminded the singer that, in the same documentary, he’d also praised Cocktail.
The interaction ended amicably, with both men shaking hands before heading their separate ways.
Any lingering animosity seems to have long since dissipated, as Cruise was seen enjoying Oasis’ return to the stage at Wembley. Among other notable attendees were pop star Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner.
The band’s reunion tour began earlier this month in Cardiff, marking their first live performance in over 16 years. Following their shows in London, the tour continues through Edinburgh and Dublin, before crossing the Atlantic in August.
Oasis will play major cities including Toronto, East Rutherford, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Mexico City, before returning to London for two more Wembley dates in September. The tour will then move on to South Korea, Japan, Australia, and South America, with concerts in Argentina, Chile, and Brazil.
