The Smurfs are returning to the big screens to take the fans into the magical blue world once again. The official trailer of the upcoming animated film has just been released, and fans can’t keep calm.
The trailer featured the adventures of Smurfette and the Smurfs clan as they go on a rescue mission. The trailer also introduces some new characters and threats, increasing the excitement among the fans.
However, pop sensation Rihanna is making her animation debut as she lends her voice to one of the beloved characters, Smurfette. Additionally, Rihanna breaks her hiatus and makes a singing comeback with the upcoming animated film.
The Smurfs trailer also features the most anticipated song, Friend of Mine. Rihanna also teased her comeback while sharing the trailer of the film on her Instagram. Alongside the video, she wrote in the caption, “new #SmurfsMovie trailer, featuring “Friend Of Mine” from the Smurfs soundtrack out friday. pre-save now.”

However, The Smurfs features a star-studded voice cast, including James Corden, Nick Offerman, JP Karliak, Daniel Levy, Amy Sedaris, Natasha Lyonne, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll, Hannah Waddingham, Alex Winter and Maya Erskine.
The voice cast also includes Billie Lourd, Xolo Maridueña with Kurt Russell and John Goodman. Directed by Chris Miller, the animated film is penned by Pam Brady and produced by A Ty Ty and Jay Brown Production.
The film is based on the original creation by Peyo and follows the afterwards of Papa Smurf, voiced by John Goodman, mysteriously captured by the evil wizards Razamel and Gargamel.

However, Smurfette (voiced by Rihanna) leads the Smurfs on a daring mission into the real world to rescue Papa Smurf. However, the Smurfs have joined new allies in their adventure. They embark on a mission to discover what defines their destiny in order to save the universe from chaos.
This upcoming film promises to deliver the magic of the Smurfs while introducing exciting new challenges and Smurfy adventures. The Smurfs will hit the theatres on July 18, 2025, in English and Hindi.
