Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has presented the state government’s Gaddar Telangana Film Awards 2024 in various categories, including the Best Actor award presented to Allu Arjun for his performance in the blockbuster movie Pushpa-2.
While accepting his award, Arjun, who was detained last December in relation to a stampede in a theatre during a Pushpa-2 screening, thanked CM Revanth Reddy and the Deputy CM. As the CM gave out awards for 2014–2023, he also praised director Rajamouli for suggesting that Pushpa-1 be released in Hindi, describing it as essential to the movie's broad appeal.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka honoured renowned filmmaker Mani Ratnam with the prestigious Paidi Jairaj Film Award for Indian Film Personality in a lavish ceremony on Saturday night, recognising his enormous contribution to Indian cinema.
Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy awarded Nivetha Thomas the Best Actress title for her role in 35: Chinna Katha Kaadu, while director Nag Ashwin was recognized as Best Director for his visionary film Kalki 2898 AD.
Celebrated actor Vijay Deverakonda was given the Kantha Rao Award, which is named after the renowned Telugu actor, while renowned actor Nandamuri Balakrishna was honoured with the coveted NTR Film Award.

Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna thanked the Telangana government for conferring the awards named after late folk singer and balladeer Gaddar. He appreciated the state government for resuming the presentation of film awards after 10 years.

During the award function, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted his government’s vision to make Telangana a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047. He said the film industry should also witness impressive growth to make a contribution in the vision. Addressing renowned director SS Rajamouli, who was present on the occasion, he said Hollywood and Bollywood should make Hyderabad their home.
