With unending love and passion, veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has embraced being a grandfather.
The actor has expressed how much this new phase of his life has affected him since the birth of his granddaughter, Evaarah Vipula Rahul, on March 24, 2025, to daughter Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul.
While Suniel admitted he didn’t shed tears during Athiya’s wedding, he confessed that the birth of Evaarah left him emotionally overwhelmed.
In a recent conversation with The Lallantop, he opened up about the profound impact the baby has had on him. “I’m obsessed with the baby. I keep checking my phone, or running home every day. The most exciting part is that she’s going to move into the same building soon. That’s what I’m looking forward to the most. I’m even changing my workout schedule — I now finish everything by 6:30 a.m so that my duties as a grandfather can begin. Because the others in the house will be resting.”
Suniel’s deep affection for Evaarah has even influenced his daily routine and physical training. Known for his disciplined lifestyle and fitness, the 62-year-old actor revealed that he has now altered his exercise regime specifically to accommodate his role as a doting grandfather.
“I have changed my training too. I’m now focusing more on bending, lifting — all the things that’ll help keep my back strong. Because with babies, you have to pick them up again and again. People think I’m joking, but my training has actually changed because of this. As you age, the body tends to bend more, lower back issues crop up, legs get weaker. So my training is all about making sure I can walk straight, bend comfortably, and play with the kids — for as long as I’m around,” he added.
