Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has claimed the top spot as the highest tax-paying Indian celebrity, contributing an impressive Rs 92 crore for the financial year 2024. After delivering massive box office hits that grossed over Rs 2,000 crore globally, SRK leads the list of top 10 highest tax-paying celebrities, according to a report by Fortune India.

The list, which includes big names from Bollywood, sports, and South Indian cinema, saw Shah Rukh Khan paying Rs 92 crore in taxes, bolstered by his box office success, brand endorsements, and business ventures. Following closely behind is Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who ranked second with a tax payment of Rs 80 crore. Vijay’s immense popularity and success in the South Indian film industry, coupled with lucrative endorsements, have made him a significant contributor to the nation’s revenue.

Salman Khan, despite a quieter year at the box office, secured third place with a tax payment of Rs 75 crore. His earnings from film ventures, television appearances, and endorsements kept him a regular on the list. Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan also made a notable impact, contributing Rs 71 crore in taxes, with his role in the Rs 1,000 crore blockbuster Kalki 2898AD.
Cricketer Virat Kohli ranked fifth, with a tax contribution of Rs 66 crore. Other sports stars who made the top 10 list include MS Dhoni with Rs 38 crore and Sachin Tendulkar with Rs 28 crore. Former cricketer Sourav Ganguly paid Rs 23 crore and Hardik Pandya with Rs 13 crore featured among the top 20.
