It was an emotional moment for actor Sanjay Kapoor as he took the stage alongside his wife Maheep Kapoor at the trailer launch of Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, marking the cinematic debut of their daughter, Shanaya Kapoor.
The proud parents joined lead actors Shanaya and Vikrant Massey at the trailer event in Mumbai, which celebrated romance, storytelling, and new beginnings.
At the trailer unveiling, Sanjay Kapoor appeared visibly moved as he watched his daughter take her first steps into the world of cinema. The proud father has long supported Shanaya’s journey, but witnessing her debut on the big screen clearly struck a personal chord.
Vikrant looked sharp in a traditional suit, while Shanaya attracted attention in a delicate yellow saree with a sheer drape. Maheep kept it cool and casual in trousers, a T-shirt and a striking blue jacket, while Sanjay Kapoor went all black.
Shanaya plays a visually impaired theatre artist named Saba in her debut feature film. Her nuanced performance and the obvious on-screen chemistry she has with Vikrant Massey, who plays a blind musician, enthralled viewers from the trailer's opening moments. One of the most talked-about aspects of the trailer is already the pairing.
The romantic drama promises an emotional story told through a new and creative lens. It is an adaptation of Ruskin Bond's well-known short story, The Eyes Have It. The film examines love in its most intimate and perceptive form—through voice, feeling, and vulnerability—because both of its main characters are visually impaired.
