Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again used his platform to inspire patriotic spirit among Indians to celebrate Independence day.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the actor wrote: “Celebrate freedom & honour the legacy of our National Flag by inspiring everyone to hoist Tricolour from 11–15 Aug & participate in Tiranga festivities. Share selfies on http://harghartiranga.com”.
The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, now in its third year under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, aims to unite citizens in a vibrant display of national pride.
Encouraging households to hoist the Indian flag between August 11 and 15, the movement blends tradition with modern engagement through online selfie submissions.
This initiative traces its inspiration to Pingali Venkayya, who presented the first version of the Indian flag to Mahatma Gandhi in 1921. Over the years, the design evolved, reflecting India’s freedom struggle, before the Tricolour was officially adopted on July 22, 1947.
The inclusion of the Ashoka Chakra in place of colonial symbols marked a new chapter—its 24 spokes representing peace, law, and dharma. Today, the flag stands as a powerful emblem of unity, sacrifice, and the nation’s hard-won freedom.

On the work front, Salman Khan is keeping his calendar packed. Bigg Boss Season 19 is set to kick off on August 24, with the actor returning as host—a role he has owned for over a decade.
Fans can also look forward to his upcoming film Battle of Galwan, an intense military drama inspired by real events. The project, said to feature an action-heavy climax coupled with an emotionally resonant storyline, promises to showcase one of Khan’s most grounded performances yet.
From rallying the country for a patriotic cause to preparing for his next big on-screen moment, Salman Khan is blending star power with social messaging—reminding fans that the Tiranga is more than a flag, it’s the heart of India’s identity.
