Yuzvendra Chahal denies 'cheating' allegations made by ex-wife Dhanashree Verma: "If I cheated in two months, would the marriage last 4.5 years?"

Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has broken his silence after ex-wife Dhanashree Verma alleged on the reality show Rise & Fall that he cheated on her two months into their marriage. In a conversation with HT City, Chahal strongly denied the claims, calling them “baseless” and stating that he has completely moved on from the past.

A recent episode of Rise & Fall sparked controversy when Dhanashree, a dancer and content creator, told co-contestant Kubbra Sait that she “caught him in the second month.” The casual remark quickly went viral, leading to intense speculation online. Responding to the buzz, Chahal said he had no interest in revisiting that phase of his life.

“I am a sportsperson and I do not cheat,” he said. “Agar koi two months mei hi cheat karta toh itna lamba relationship chalta kya? [If someone cheats within two months, would the relationship have lasted this long?] For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted. I have moved forward with my life and everyone else should do, too.”

Chahal emphasized that his marriage to Dhanashree lasted four and a half years, questioning the credibility of the allegations. “Hamari shadi 4.5 years thi. Agar two months mei cheat hua hota toh kaun continue karta? Mai pehle bhi bol chuka hun ki mai past se nikal chuka hun. But some people are still stuck there,” he said. He went on to add, “Abhi bhi unka ghar mere naam se chal raha hai toh they can continue doing that,” a pointed remark that hinted at his frustration with ongoing public discussion.
