Renowned for her powerful television presence, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia recently talked candidly about the difficulties she encountered when switching from small to large screens.
Nimrit openly discussed the challenges of breaking into the film business as a television actor while promoting her most recent movie, Shaunki Sardar.
She told Hindustan Times, “Challenges are there, and that often comes from a preconceived notion that, Oh my god, you are a television actor,” she shared.
“But I feel like when you crack a project, then you don’t feel that, but before you crack the project, there are those hiccups that you face while auditioning. But you know, some people have a preconceived notion about you, and some see your talent. I think I was fortunate that this project also panned out because they saw merit in me and didn’t have a stereotypical viewpoint. But I am sure any actor transitioning from television to films will tell the same thing.” She added.

Speaking about her part in Shaunki Sardar, Nimrit also mentioned how excited her family is about her work with Babbu Maan, a legendary figure in Punjabi music and film. As a budding actor in Punjabi cinema, she said that Maan's words of encouragement and appreciation for her performance meant a lot to her.
Babbu Maan, singer-actor Guru Randhawa, and seasoned Gugu Gill are among the film's outstanding cast members. It was released in theatres on May 16.
