Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the celebrated actor known for his compelling performances, recently expressed his deep anguish and anger regarding the tragic terror attack that occurred in Pahalgam, Kashmir. While promoting his upcoming biographical drama 'Costao' on Friday, Siddiqui made a poignant statement by wearing a black band on his arm, a silent yet powerful gesture of solidarity with the victims and their families.

During an exclusive interaction with India Today, the actor articulated the profound sense of sorrow and outrage that has gripped the nation following the horrific incident on Tuesday, April 22nd. When questioned about the significance of the black band, Siddiqui somberly stated, “It happened just recently and has been on our minds since then. There is a lot of anger in us towards what happened. Bohot dukh bhi hai (There is also a lot of pain),” his words reflecting the collective grief and fury felt across the country.

The terror attack, which unfolded in the picturesque Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, saw terrorists unleash indiscriminate gunfire on tourists, resulting in the tragic loss of 26 lives, including two foreign nationals. The senseless violence against innocent individuals enjoying a holiday with their loved ones has sent shockwaves throughout the nation, leaving a trail of mourning and demanding answers.

“Humare mein gussa hai, bohot zyada gussa hai but hum kya kar sakte hai (There is a lot of anger in us, but what can a normal citizen do?). We have trust in our government, and they will take due actions. They are already at it and we hope we find justice,” he articulated. His response highlights the feeling of helplessness that can often accompany such horrific events for the common populace, while simultaneously expressing faith in the government's ability to address the situation and deliver justice to the victims and their families.
