The latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 kicked off with contestant Pranati Paidipati from Bengaluru taking the hotseat. As the game began, a conversation about spiders' legs led to a discussion about cockroaches, with host Amitabh Bachchan revealing a personal anecdote about his fear of cockroaches, much to the amusement of the audience.
Amitabh Bachchan, known for his wit, shared a humorous story about his failed attempts to deal with cockroaches. “Woh toh marte hi nahi hai (They just don’t die),” he exclaimed, recalling how he once trapped a cockroach in a bottle filled with insecticide powder. After a week, to his surprise, the cockroach flew out of the bottle, completely unfazed. This anecdote brought laughter to both the audience and contestant.
After this light-hearted moment, Big B shifted the conversation to Pranati’s profession. An Android automotive developer, Pranati expressed her deep love for cars, admitting, “Main cars ki deewani hu” (I am crazy about cars). Although she doesn’t drive, she told Big B that she could keep him entertained on a drive. In response, Big B humorously remarked that he would think of her every time he goes for a drive.
As the game progressed, Pranati revealed that it was her father’s lifelong dream to be on the KBC hotseat. “This year, he made all of us register, and today, I am sitting here,” she said emotionally. She played the game with enthusiasm and determination, answering questions with great confidence.
Pranati successfully used the audience poll lifeline to answer the Rs 20,000 question: In which movie does Ryan Gosling perform the song "I’m Just Ken"? With the audience's help, she correctly answered "Barbie." For the Rs 3,20,000 question about which semiconductor company surpassed Microsoft in June 2024 to become the world’s most valuable public company, Pranati opted for the "Video Call a Friend" lifeline and answered "Nvidia" correctly.
In a fun moment, Pranati asked Big B what he would write in a matrimonial profile. Laughing, he responded, “Meri shaadi ho chuki hai, mujhe nahi banwana hai profile” (I’m already married, I don’t need to create a profile). Despite his playful reluctance, a profile was humorously created for Big B during the show, adding to the light-hearted atmosphere.
Pranati continued to play skillfully, using her lifelines wisely. She answered the Rs 12,50,000 question about World Homeopathy Day correctly by using the Double Dip lifeline. However, when faced with the Rs 25 lakh question—In 1778, an island in the Nicobar Islands was named ‘Teressa’ in honor of a queen of which empire?—Pranati decided to quit, taking home Rs 12,50,000. Her instinct was to answer "Dutch," but the correct answer was "Habsburg."
