Karate Kid - Legends left fans disappointed

Action hero Jackie Chan returns in the highly anticipated Karate Kid: Legends, which was released in theatres on May 30. The latest instalment in the Karate Kid franchise is dubbed as a spinoff of the Cobra Kai series, but it failed to impress the audience.

Early Twitter reviews of the film have filled the social media platform with some of the viewers praising the makers for taking them down memory lane, while others criticized the film for its predictable plot.

One X user wrote, “Karate Kid Legends feels like a huge Cobra Kai spinoff episode and the pacing is sooo rushed. I'm happy to see Jackie Chan back and i really like how they connect both Karate Kid movie universe together.”
Meanwhile, another person expressed extreme disappointment with the movie, calling it terrible as it didn't live up to their expectations.

The tweet reads, “I’m a huge fan of the karate kid series and just got done watching Karate Kid legends… this movie was DOG SHIT omg. Nah I’m so mad rn cause I was hyped for this movie and it’s SO bad.”
However, some viewers found some scenes weird as the makers brought back a deceased actor using AI, making the film gross.

One tweeted, “It was really weird tbh (unsurprisingly since they're bringing back a dead actor and then also apperently used AI which is also really gross)."
A fourth viewer gave the film a disappointing rating of 3 out of 10 and penned, “Karate Kid: Legends fails to introduce anything novel, making it an easy movie to forget. Despite the presence of talented actors like Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, the film lacks originality and simply follows the predictable plot of a typical Karate movie. Rating 3/10.”
However, another person called the film a weird nightmare while pointing out that the Karate Kid character didn't appear until the last half hour, and it seemed like they had a complete script but abruptly cut off the second half to connect the movie to Cobra Kai.

Another person said, “Guys this movie is a weird nightmare. the “Karate Kid” character doesn’t show up until the last half hour and it’s very obvious they had a script and just totally cut off the second half to connect this movie to Cobra Kai.”
Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, Karate Kid: Legends follows Li Fong’s relocation to New York City. He attracts unwanted attention from a local karate champion and embarks on a journey to enter the ultimate karate competition with the help of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso.
