The R&B duo As One member Lee Min, whose real name is Lee Min Young, died at the age of 46. She was found dead at her home on August 5. The police officials are currently investigating the case.
A representative of BrandNew Music, a Korean music company founded by Korean rapper and producer Rhymer, shared an update on August 6 and said, “The police are conducting an investigation.” The agency has also asked the public to refrain from excessive speculation until the official results are revealed.
According to AllKpop, the sources close to the music industry have revealed that Lee Min had remained active up until recently. Additionally, she released her new music, Happy Birthday, in June. Besides this, the singer appeared on Park Bo Gum’s Cantabile.
K-pop industry professionals mourned the loss of the singer and paid tribute on social media. Jae Chong, the Seoul-born and Los Angeles–raised producer, took to Instagram and penned, “Just lost another great artist and friend. I met Min when she was just 17 with big dreams and took her out to Korea to pursue a career in music back in 1998."
He added, "I watched her career blossom as an artist. Always considered her as family. She was the most optimistic, positive person I knew. She will be missed dearly. Rest in peace. #AsOne.”

For the unversed, Lee Min made her singing debut in 1999 as part of the duo As One. The K-pop group rose to fame with hit songs such as For You I Long, Resent, Day by Day, Don’t Be Silly, and Am I the One Who Should Apologise.
