"It’s so funny that when my daughter turned 16, I was thinking of what to gift her and I thought if I should gift her a sex toy or a vibrator," she revealed.

"I asked my daughter about it and she said, ‘Mom have you lost it, are you retarded or crazy.’" Despite her daughter's initial shock and humorous dismissal, Gautami stood by her intention. "I told her, ‘Think about it. How many mothers would be willing to talk to their daughters about gifting something like this? Why don’t you experiment?'"

Looking back, Gautami believes her unconventional thought, even if not acted upon, has had a positive impact on her relationship with her daughter. "Today, my daughter is 19 and she appreciates the fact that I at least had that thought."
