Fans have been eagerly anticipating Anushka Sharma’s comeback film, Chakda Xpress, since the day it was announced. Several looks from the set have also gone viral on social media, but the makers are yet to share an update on the project.
However, actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya, who plays a significant role in the film, has recently addressed the delay. Dibyendu expressed his confusion about the film’s ongoing delay. He also agreed with the frustration that fans are feeling.
During a recent interview with News18 Showsha, Dibyendu said, “You have no idea how eagerly I’m waiting for the release. It’s a beautiful film. I saw it at (director) Prosit Roy’s house, and even though it wasn’t fully completed, it blew me away.”
He then went on to praise Anushka’s performance in the film, calling it her best performance. He hopes the powerful biopic will finally be released soon.
However, the actor was asked if Chakda Xpress is shelved or postponed, to which he admitted, “I don’t know. I would’ve told you if I had any updates. But Clean Slate is on one side, and Netflix is on the other. What’s going on between them, I have no clue.”
For the unversed, Chakda Xpress was originally announced in 2022, marking Anushka Sharma’s return to acting after 2018’s disastrous film, Zero, which also stars Shah Rukh Khan in the lead.

Chakda Xpress is backed by her brother Karnesh Ssharma’s production house, Clean Slate Filmz, with the reports suggesting that the company ended its partnership with Netflix last year, leading to delays in several scheduled releases, including Chakda Xpress. Clean Slate is reportedly thinking about buying back the film from Netflix to look into other release options. However, neither side has officially confirmed this.
