A past incident surrounding BLACKPINK’s Lisa has resurfaced, igniting strong reactions from fans and sparking renewed criticism of YG Entertainment. The incident was recalled by 2NE1 member Dara during her appearance on the survival show Under 15, where she evaluated one of the contestants’ performances.
While sharing the anecdote, Dara revealed that Lisa had been restricted from showcasing her singing talent during her trainee days, a move that has left fans fuming at YG Entertainment for allegedly stifling her potential.
Dara, while judging the performance on Under 15, spoke fondly of Lisa’s early talent, recalling how, during YG's monthly evaluations, Lisa’s voice would often stand out for its strength and power. Dara shared that the instructors would ask Lisa not to turn on her microphone during her training sessions, explaining that her voice was “too powerful” and might overshadow the other trainees.
Dara’s remark seemed to draw a parallel between the powerful voices of the Under 15 contestant and Lisa’s trainee days, saying, “It feels exactly like watching Lisa back then.”
However, the revelation, though intended as a compliment to Lisa’s vocal abilities, stirred up significant backlash among Lisa’s fans. They were quick to criticise YG Entertainment for suppressing her vocal potential.
