Bhojpuri actor-turned-politician Pawan Singh’s second wife, Jyoti Singh, broke down outside his Lucknow residence after being stopped by the police. The incident, which was captured on camera, quickly went viral as Jyoti accused her husband of cheating and threatened to end her life if denied justice.
According to reports, Jyoti attempted to enter her husband’s house but was prevented from doing so by police officers, who informed her that Pawan Singh had filed an FIR against her.
Officers at the scene requested her to accompany them to the police station, stating that an inspector had issued a summons and clarifying that no formal case had been registered against her at that point.
Visibly distressed, Jyoti claimed she was being “publicly humiliated.”
A police officer at the spot acknowledged that there were ongoing legal proceedings between the two, including maintenance disputes.
The officer further mentioned that Jyoti had allegedly made serious accusations in the past, including one of murder, which Jyoti denied, stating her complaint was limited to financial support proceedings.
Overwhelmed by the situation, Jyoti made a desperate plea before the officers, threatening self-harm. In a statement, she said, “Aaj main sirf samaj ke kehne par yahan aayi thi, bas yeh din dekhne ke liye. Agar abhi bhi insaaf nahin mila to koi umeed nahin hai. Main ghar mein zehar kha kar mar jaungi; iss ghar se meri laash jaayegi. Yeh last baar hai jo main keh rahi hoon. Main ek shareef ghar ki beti hoon, ek shareef ghar ki bahu hoon. Agar mujhe police station jaana pad raha hai, to main yahin se zehar kha kar nikal lungi. Bas, bohot ho gaya. Insaaf dijiye mujhe.”
Jyoti has accused Pawan Singh of infidelity, alleging that he had been unfaithful during and after the elections. She claimed he took another woman to a hotel in her presence.
“Yeh samaj ki seva karenge? Yeh Pawan ji seva karenge jo apni patni ko nikalne ke liye police bula rahe hain? Chunav ke dauraan apni patni ka istemal kiya, aur phir doosri ladkiyon ko lekar hotel gaye. Sab poochte the na ki chunav ke baad main kyun aa gayi? Kyunki chunav ke 20 din baad Pawan ji humare saamne ek ladki ko lekar hotel gaye the. Hum ek patni hoke yeh bardaasht nahin kar sakte the, isiliye hum chale gaye. Aur ab yeh Pawan ji insaaf karenge?” she said tearfully.
Before traveling to Lucknow, Jyoti had publicly announced her visit through a Facebook post addressed to her husband:
“Dear husband, Mr. Pawan Singh, I am coming to your residence in Lucknow tomorrow to meet you and your family. I will wait for you there for two days.”
The video of the confrontation shows Jyoti pleading for justice, insisting she only wanted to meet her husband and resolve matters peacefully. However, the situation escalated into a public breakdown, exposing the deep cracks in their marriage and bringing the couple’s ongoing dispute back into the spotlight.
