In a startling turn of events, famous hairstylist Jawed Habib and his son Anos Habib are facing legal issues after being charged with operating a huge investment scam in the Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh that is estimated to have cost them close to Rs 7 crore.
According to PTI, the police report stated that the duo allegedly lured dozens of investors with fake promises of high returns on Bitcoin-related schemes under the banner of FLC Company.
Police officials said the investors were promised 50–70% annual returns, a number that immediately raised eyebrows once the payments stopped coming. “Each person put in between Rs 5–7 lakh,” confirmed Superintendent of Police Krishna Kumar Vishnoi, adding that none of them received any returns even after two years.
23 FIRs, 38 Victims, and a Possible Organised Network
So far, authorities have identified 38 victims who claim they were cheated. As of now, 23 FIRs have been filed against Jawed Habib, Anos Habib, and their associate Saiful, who allegedly helped coordinate the operations.
The police suspect the racket was not just a one-off con but rather part of an organised network operating across different districts. “It’s not just about the money. This looks systematic — planned, even professional,” an investigating officer told reporters, requesting anonymity.
A lookout notice has been issued against both Jawed Habib and Anos Habib, with authorities warning that if they fail to refund the investors, their properties could be seized under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
From Salon Fame to Scam Headlines
Jawed Habib, a well-known hairstylist in India who has trained thousands of stylists and operated a chain of salons across the country, has experienced an unanticipated decline in popularity. These accusations are even more shocking because his brand has long been linked to luxury, celebrity clientele, and professional grooming.
The case has generated a lot of online discussion while the investigation is ongoing. People on social media are expressing surprise, incredulity, and even rage. "Never thought someone like Jawed Habib could be involved in something like this," one commenter on X wrote. (with PTI inputs)
