Aryan Khan's The Bads of Bollywood was recently released on Netflix and received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike. During the course of the show, Bobby Deol’s 1997 classic song from Gupt features many times. And post the show, the song has now become the newest internet sensation.
The classic song has been revived as the newest anthem, creating a new streaming record.
It has now garnered over 5 million views on YouTube in just four days since the show's Netflix release, which no one had seen coming.
The song from more than 20 years ago has become the most popular from The Ba**ds of Bollywood instead of the brand-new songs.
The song Haseeno Ka Mela features in the show as one of the hit songs of Bobby Deol's superstar character from his onscreen movie Sailaab.
Fans have been going gaga over two major scenes from the series, which are all over the Instagram reels, the song and Raghav Juyal's hilarious performance of Kaho Na Kaho to Emraan Hashmi. However, Bobby Deol's 1997 song from Gupt is the one that's taking centre stage.
Originally featured in Gupt, the song Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela now appears in the show as a part of the fictional world in which Bobby portrays Bollywood star Ajay Talvar.
In the Netflix series, the song is said to be from Ajay's late 1990s in-universe movie Sailaab. It is hinted at in an early episode party scene, but its full impact is revealed in the climax when Neeta, played by Mona Singh, is digitally added as a background dancer, something that was never done in the original video.
The nostalgic song, which was written by Viju Shah and sung by Udit Narayan, is rapidly gaining popularity on Spotify and Instagram. The blend of contemporary storytelling and classic hits is a hit with fans.
