Actor Ayesha Takia has deleted her Instagram account after facing severe trolling over her recent photos. The former Bollywood star, who had shared pictures of herself in a stunning blue Kanjeevaram saree paired with a gold necklace, became the target of harsh criticism online.
Many social media users commented on her appearance, noting how unrecognizable she looked compared to her earlier days.
The now-deleted post received a mix of reactions, with some fans nostalgically recalling her earlier looks, while others speculated about her undergoing beauty treatments.
Comments like "Looking nice but natural beauty is always perfect" and "Can't find that cute girl anymore... anyway, God bless and keep smiling" highlighted the polarized opinions of her followers. Some users even directly questioned her about possible cosmetic procedures, a topic that has previously drawn scrutiny.
Earlier this year, Ayesha was subjected to similar criticism when she was spotted at Mumbai airport with her son.
At that time, she addressed the negativity head-on, expressing her frustration on Instagram. She wrote, "Turns out there are no other important issues in the country except dissecting my looks... been bombarded with viral ridiculous opinions of how people think I should have looked and don’t."
She further clarified that she has no intention of returning to films, emphasizing that she is content with her life away from the limelight and uninterested in fame.
Ayesha, who stepped away from acting after marrying Farhan Azmi in 2009, also criticized the unrealistic expectations people have regarding aging. She pointed out the absurdity of expecting her to look the same at 38 as she did at 15.
In a 2017 interview, Ayesha addressed rumors about plastic surgery, stating that while it's a personal choice, she had no plans to undergo any procedures. "It's 2017, and we can't judge anybody... They are entitled to do whatever they want with themselves," she said.
Ayesha Takia first gained fame as a model and made her Bollywood debut with Taarzan: The Wonder Car, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Debut in 2004. She starred in several other films, including Dil Maange More and Dor.
