The roar of 50,000 voices shook North London last night as Arijit Singh walked into music history. Performing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Arijit became the first-ever Indian artist to headline and sell out a UK stadium show, a feat usually reserved for global icons like Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, and Imagine Dragons.
Tickets were sold out within an hour. Over 25,000 vanished on day one, and by the time the gates opened, the arena was jam-packed with fans who had flown in from across Europe just for this once-in-a-lifetime gig.
And it was a night for more than three and a half hours, Arijit turned Tottenham Hotspur into a temple of music, sliding effortlessly from soul-baring ballads like Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to stadium-sized renditions of Kesariya, backed by a full 24-piece orchestra. At one point, the lights dimmed, and Arijit’s acoustic medley hushed the entire stadium.
He also took the entire crowd of audience by surprise when he sang the title track of Saiyaara.
The evening’s biggest surprise was a special cameo by sitar maestro Anoushka Shankar. They both unveiled a glimpse from their upcoming collaboration, fusing Arijit voice with Shankar’s transcendent sitar notes.

Towering LED panels, cinematic visuals, lasers slicing through the London sky, Tottenham had seen world stars before, but last night it belonged solely to Arijit Singh.
With 151 million Spotify followers, the most for any artist worldwide, Arijit has already eclipsed names like Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran in reach.
