Allu Arjun announces Pushpa 2 postponed, to hit cinemas on December 6 2024

Since last week, there had been growing uncertainty surrounding the release date of Pushpa 2: The Rule. Fans and industry insiders were abuzz with rumors that Sukumar's much-awaited sequel would not meet its initial release schedule. These rumors have now been confirmed by Allu Arjun, who took to his social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to share the new release date along with a striking new poster of the film.

On Monday evening, Allu Arjun shared the new poster, featuring him in his iconic role of Pushpa Raj. In the poster, he is seen wearing a grey t-shirt layered with a brown shirt, paired with a matching bandana on his head. He holds a sword in his hand, resting it threateningly on his shoulder, and gazes into the camera with a deadly expression. The caption with the poster read, "#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024."

The shift in release date has created quite a stir among fans and has also had a ripple effect on other film releases. Pushpa 2: The Rule was originally set to clash with multiple high-profile releases on August 15. These included Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, Nikkhil Advani's action thriller Vedaa, Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein, and Puri Jagannadh's sci-fi action film Double iSmart. However, following the announcement of the new release date, Jio Studios, which had initially scheduled Singham Again for an August release, moved its release to Diwali. This change has also led to the scheduling of other films such as the horror-comedy Stree 2, now set for August 15.

Pushpa: The Rise, the first part of the series, was a monumental success, showcasing power struggles set against the backdrop of red sandalwood smuggling. Directed by Sukumar, the film was lauded for its intense storyline and powerful performances.
