Aamir Khan’s Taare Zameen Par (2007) is a landmark film that brought widespread attention to the struggles faced by children with dyslexia. While the movie resonated deeply with audiences for its heartfelt portrayal of Ishaan’s journey, it also held personal significance for Aamir and his family. Unknown to many, Taare Zameen Par led to a pivotal discovery about Aamir's son, Junaid Khan, who was diagnosed with dyslexia after the actor and his then-wife Reena Dutta recognised symptoms in their child.

Junaid Khan, who made his acting debut in 2024 with Netflix’s Maharaj, recently opened up about his early struggles with dyslexia during an interview. Reflecting on his childhood, Junaid shared that his parents were not overly strict about academics, a decision influenced by his diagnosis.

“Neither of my parents were particular about my results. I was diagnosed with dyslexia very early on, so they were mindful of that, especially during my schooling,” Junaid revealed.

Interestingly, the diagnosis came after Aamir and Reena heard the script of Taare Zameen Par. “When they heard the script, they were like, ‘Ek second… We have seen this in our lives.’ It was actually at that point that they took me to a specialist, and I was diagnosed with dyslexia,” Junaid explained.
