Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking at an election rally in Sankrail, Howrah, on May 12, accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of turning corruption into a "full-time business."
He alleged that corruption was a common trait among parties in the INDIA bloc and slammed the TMC for exacerbating this issue. Furthermore, he accused TMC leaders of focusing their efforts on instigating unrest in the state.
PM Modi asserted that corruption has become a shared characteristic among parties within the INDIA bloc, including the Congress, Left, and others. "Be it the Congress, Left, or any other party within the INDIA bloc, corruption has become their shared trait," he said.
"While several parties within the INDIA bloc engage in corruption discreetly, the TMC openly embraces it," alleged the Prime Minister, who was addressing an election rally in Bengal's Howrah.
"TMC has made corruption a full-time business," PM Modi said.
PM Modi highlighted that the people of the state have invested their hard-earned money in purchasing lottery tickets, only to fall victim to what he referred to as the "lottery scam."
Furthermore, he alleged that the TMC prioritises the welfare of illegal immigrants over the well-being of the people of West Bengal. He lashed out at the party for labeling Indian citizens as "outsiders" while granting influence to illegal immigrants from other countries in Bengal.
"They refer to Indian citizens as 'outsiders,' yet illegal immigrants from other countries are allowed to wield influence in Bengal," he noted.
Additionally, PM Modi accused the Congress, Left, and TMC of jeopardising West Bengal's identity, stating that in many regions, the original inhabitants have been marginalised and turned into minorities.
"In numerous regions, the original inhabitants have been reduced to minorities," stated the Prime Minister.
