Polling for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Mainpuri, Uttar Pradesh, has seen a 46.8% voter turnout in five hours, and in 2019, it was 56.67 % voter. This time, Dimple Yadav is contesting against the BJP’s Jaiveer Singh, who is the Tourism Minister in the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh and is an MLA from Mainpuri. Mainpuri is an important Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh, doubling as the administrative centre of the Mainpuri district. The 2011 census recorded Mainpuri’s population at 136,557. Mainpuri constituency is composed of five legislative assemblies: Mainpuri, Bhongaon, Kishni, Karhal, and Jaswantnagar. Results will be announced on June 4.

During the 2019 General Elections, in the electoral battle featuring 12 candidates, the spotlight was on Mulayam Singh Yadav from the Samajwadi Party (SP) pitted against Prem Singh Shakya from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Mulayam Singh Yadav emerged victorious, securing the seat with 524,926 votes, while Prem Singh Shakya of the BJP trailed behind with 430,537 votes.
