Firozpur, a parliamentary constituency in Punjab, is set for a significant electoral contest in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), the voting for Firozpur will take place on June 1, 2024, during Phase 7 of the election schedule, with the results announced on June 4, 2024.
Firozpur, with a population of over two million as per the 2011 census and a literacy rate of 68.92%, is a border district between India and Pakistan, located on the banks of the Sutlej River. The Firozpur parliamentary seat comprises nine Assembly seats, three of which are reserved for the Scheduled Caste category.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Sukhbir Singh Badal of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) emerged victorious in the Firozpur constituency, securing 633,427 votes. His closest rival, Sher Singh Ghubaya of the Indian National Congress (INC), received 434,577 votes, with a margin of victory of 198,850 votes. In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Sher Singh Ghubaya (then with SAD) defeated Sunil Jakhar of the Congress in a closely contested race, receiving 487,932 votes to Jakhar's 456,512 votes. Firozpur has been a stronghold for SAD, with the party maintaining a significant presence in the constituency over recent elections.
